Kiwi Magic KZ7
KZ7 was built by Team New Zealand for the 1987 America's Cup in Fremantle, Australia. KZ7, KZ5 and KZ3 were the first fiberglass 12-metres. The conversion from alloy to fiberglass was a technological revolution. After winning 38 races and setting the longest winning streak in the Louis Vuitton Challenger Series KZ7 became known as 'Kiwi Magic' and 'Plastic Fantastic'. New Zealander Chris Dickson skippered 'Kiwi Magic' in the Finals of the Louis Vuitton Challenger Series where she was defeated by Stars & Stripes in a best-of-seven races.
